Why volunteer at jean's angels?

By volunteering your time and effort at Jean’s Angels, you are making immeasurable contributions toward the lives of those less fortunate. Regardless of the circumstances that led someone to become homeless, addicted to drugs, or in poverty, everyone is deserving of some compassion and empathy. Something as simple as a smile or a fresh meal could go a long way toward reminding people that they do indeed matter, and by doing your part to help, you are making an investment not just in the lives of the individuals you work with, but in the Tri-County community as a whole.

For many people in the world, life is less about what happens to you than it is about how you respond to what happens to you. The unfortunate reality for many of the children that we work with, though, is that they were simply dealt a rough hand in life and don’t know how to respond to their situations. Many children never had a responsible adult figure guiding or mentoring them in their lives. Some children don’t even know right from wrong- simply because they were never taught. In other cases, some children are diagnosed with a terminal illness and are relegated to a wheelchair or a bed while other children their age are swinging on the monkey bars or shooting hoops at their local park.

This is where our wonderful team of volunteers can help. We see it as part of our mission to not just provide some basic necessities for those in need but to do so with grace, warmth, and an authentic smile. When you volunteer to help at Jean’s Angels, you are becoming a ray of light in lives that are often unfortunately very bleak.
